Wedding Day
JULY 9
Well, it’s all over. My cousin is now a married man.
Today was a long day. We woke up at about 9:30 and ate breakfast. Then we went swimming. Swimming included Brooke, Dad, myself, along with 4 boys who are neighbors of my cousins (so I didn’t know them), and my aunt’s brother’s 4 kids. They really wore us out. It was fun though. Then we went upstairs and watched TV and got ready for the big day.
We got to the church and watched the last part of pictures. Then we were placed in rows and then kicked out of the room. After a while, the doors were open and we all went in. I took pictures, without flash (very irritating). It was a very nice service.
The reception was a lot of fun. Dad decided that it was the nicest reception. Why? Because 1) the only alcohol was champagne, 2) most of the guests were strong Christians, and 3) we were related to at least half of the guests. I’d say I’d have to agree with Dad. This was the nicest reception I’ve been to. There was live music. Chandeliers lighted the tent. We were assigned tables. There was a dance floor. I took pictures a lot of the night, which was fine by me because I’m not much of a dancer in the club kind of way. Interestingly enough, a lot of the songs were danceable songs, meaning swing, salsa, etc. I’ve decided that before I get married, me and my fiancé will take dance lessons so we can do more than just rock back and forth. I did dance, just not as much as others. Most of the pictures I took turned out. Overall, it was a great reception and a beautiful wedding.
Brooke and I decided that we should become wedding photographers. Brooke would tape, while I would take still.
I kind of can’t wait until Lori’s (another cousin) wedding in December. I know it’ll be beautiful.
So apparently, when we’re in Columbus, Ohio, we’re staying with our relatives (on Mom’s side). These relatives are Mom’s brother’s wife’s brother and his family. They have 4 really cute boys with another one on the way. Brooke and I were surprised that we were staying with them. But we are. It’ll be fun.
We don’t know if we’re going to St. Louis or not still. Now, all of my cousins thought we weren’t coming, and Brooke’s ok with it, but Mom apparently said we were. So, I don’t know what’s going on and Dad and Mom will make a decision tonight and everything will be clear…I hope.
I can’t believe today is over. It seemed like such a short time ago that we found out that Mark was getting married. After we found out, it seemed like forever until the day actually came and now it’s all over. Wow.
