Otterbein

Well, I am here. just had my audition a few hours ago. OK, looking at the time it was like five hours ago, but still...it seemed like it was only a little bit ago. The audition went well. We had the actual singing audition, then a piano placement test, and then a sight-singing test. The singning was interesting. I was fine for the first one. However, on the second one while she was playing the intro, I stood there thinking, "How does this begin?" So I came in about half a beat later than I was supposed to. And in general the accompanist played the song slower than I usually sing it. But other than that, the songs went well. After singing, I had a piano placement class. Well, I haven't taken piano for a long time. The first part went well. However, trouble came when he had me say the key signatures with flats. I remembered the rule, but I accidently kept saying B flat instead of D flat. I knew it was D flat, but I kept saying B flat. After that, he had me sight read a song. Besides not really playing the song to a consistent beat, I also played the left hand an octave higher than written and didn't notice until about half way through. I did say that I was sorry I had played half the piece in the wrong octave and then continued. After that interesting event, I went to sight-singing. I totally dominated this portion. The person in there was really impressed. Yay me! After that, we had a music theory, history, and aptitude test. I totally bombed the theory and history, but the aptitude I think went pretty well. Then came a question and answer time and then lunch. After lunch, I met up with Elizabeth and we went to her drama class. They were reading The Crucible. It was quite interesting. I even participated in the discussion and answered some of the professor's questions that no one was answering because they didn't know or they just didn't want to speak up. I really enjoyed sitting in that class. I think I have a little newer approach to my character now. Don't worry; I'll check it with Linda first. I wish the cast could have been there for the discussion. It was a good one. After class, we went to Grady's for some very delicious ice cream. Then we went to Luke's and made dinner.....spaghetti Tuna Fish casserole. I say spaghetti because we used spaghetti noodles. Quite an interesting experience. It was good. Then Elizabeth and I took and walk and swung on swings and talked. I had a great time. Now I have here in her room while she is at rehearsal. Why am I not at rehearsal? I went last night and Elizabeth basically told me not to come again because it was not an entertaining practice. I didn't think it was too bad, but I will respect her wishes and stay here and type on my blog of my adventures instead.

Yesterday was an adventure for sure. At 12:00 in the morning, we were freaking out about my books from NATS. Apparently we had left them at PSU. One of the books I needed for the auditions and I couldn't get it before I left, since I had to leave at 4:30 AM. Well, there really was nothing we could do about it, so I went to sleep and woke up 4 hours later. I got to the airport with an hour to spare, so Mom and I sat there for a while, which was fun. The plane ride was long. Four hours long to be precise. I slept and watched the movie. Once in Cincinatti, I got food and got on another plane. This plane was small and about a 30 minute ride. After getting to the airport, I waited for Debbie and the boys. Once picked up, we went to their house. There, we played on the trampoline, played tag, played game cube, went to Chipoltle's, went to Dairy Queen, and then they dropped me off at Otterbein. Then I went to Elizabeth's rehearsal, went to Luke's house, and then home. It was definitely an active last half of the day.

I wish I could stay longer here. Jennifer is coming tomorrow at like 11:00 PM and I leave at like 6:30 AM. It's really unfortunate. But I have enjoyed my time here.

I don't really have much more to say so with that.....

Nathan, I posted. Now it's your turn. So there!
