Dance Team

I find it very irritating that I could not remember the dance that Andrea, Miriam, and I were teaching (that is the part after the stuff we'd taught DT today) until I was in my car at the stoplight on Witch Hazel Road. I was sitting there thinking about it and BAM! It hit me. I remembered everything. It makes me irritated because when Heather asked to see how much we had left to teach, I looked like an idiot because I couldn't remember, when in reality I knew it. Oh the irritation!

Also, we started learning state stuff and I can't do the shoulder sit/swing thing. I've never been able to do it. The shoulder rolls themselves are fine but the swing thing is tough, especially on the shoulders. Oh well, I'm sure there will be lots of practice time in Jumps and Tech. Now my shoulders hurt. I know I'll have bruises tomorrow.

Dance, Dance, Dance

Yesterday was a full day of dancing. I got up at 8:30 to get ready to go to my ballet class at 9:30. From there I danced until 12:15. Then took a 45 minute break only to go back to dance at 1:00. Then from 1:00 to 5:00 was strictly Nutcracker practice. Then from there, I went to NCD to take a master class from John Magnus (I doubt that's how you spell his name but anyway...). The class started at 5:30, thaough it really didn't get going until 5:45 and I ended the day with a Pas de Deux class from him, which was over at 8:45. It was a long day. I had so much fun though. I'm really glad I got the chance to take a class from someone from Joffrey. That was awesome. The master class was slightly intimidating, but the Pas class was a blast. It was me, Courtney, Ermine, and this other girl. I felt sorry for the other girl because she had to put up with Courtney, Ermine, and me (especially me and Courtney) constantly saying "No, it's your turn. You're closer," and so on. But it was fun, none the less. Oh and there was a photographer who kept taking pictures of either Courtney and Ermine or me and Ermine while we were dancing. It was kind of irritating/distracting. I had a lot of fun. And surprisingly, I'm not sore. I thougth it would be unable to move today but I was fully movable.

Today I saw Monsters Inc on Ice. It was so cute. I haven't been to a Disney on Ice since Pocahantas(spelling? eh) came to town. I loved it!

Oh and Nutcracker is just around the corner. If anyone wants to come, let me know ASAP because tickets are selling fast. It'll be a show you won't forget!

Jazz Cabaret

Wow. Tonight was Encore's Jazz Cabaret and it was so much fun. It went much better than I thought it would, considering we started really working on everything about 3 weeks before the show. It was amazing. Everyone sounded great. I surprised my self in adding ornaments. I was really happy with how I sounded. It was a great night. But now I should either study for Physics or go to bed. Hmmm.....

Bunko

Tonight I'm playing Bunko at my church. I'm really excited. It's such a fun game. I'm sad though because my cousin Jennifer left yesterday and she loves Bunko. But I know I'll have fun anyway because I always do.

Today in Variations I got to dance Snow in my tutu. It was deffinitely different than dancing in just a leo and tights. But it was nice to do so without the whole snow crew there. Also, I wore my new pointe shoes. I think these ones will work better than the ones I used for 3 practices. But I had fun.

I ahd a weird dream this morning where I woke up, looked outside and saw snow on the ground. Kids were playing and the suburban was gone. I thought to myself, "Hmmm...There must not be any school today" and went back to sleep. The weird part was that I actually did wake up but what I saw obviously wasn't true. It was interesting.

Well, I should get ready to play Bunko. I'm so excited!

Into the Woods

Well, I haven't posted on this subject for a while, but the time has come to do so. We got the results of who we are and I am..............The Witch!!!!!!! Yay!!!!! I'm soooooooooooooooo excited, if you can't tell or didn't already know that. For the most part, I guessed who each guy would be correctly. The girls were harder to place. Some of the casting surprised me, but I know it'll be a great show! I really wanted the script today, but Ms. Davis and Sil decided to play hookie (I don't blame them). Anyway, nothing that happened today dampened my spirits (even the physics quiz I had 1st period). Oh man, I'm so excited. Now I will most likely be back in my "I watched 'Into the Woods' again last night". But I will try to refrain from typing every time I watch it. Well, I must fly. That's all folks!

I'm very excited because my cousin Jennifer is here (the one who was 1st runner up for Miss Minnesota)! She's staying with my family until Friday night. Of course, she's very busy going around to different schools talking about her platform "Character Education", but I'm still very excited. She wants to come to dance team tomorrow. That'll be fun! She says she's really excited about the speaking she will be doing this Wednesday at 6:30. It will be wonderful.

Auditions for the musical were last Thursday and Friday. I did ok. I thought that the cast list was going up tomorrow, but Jennifer says differently and I can always trust her. She says that reading auditions are on Monday. Hmmm....interesting. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. I'm nervous, but excited.

It's sad that "You Can't Take it with You" is over. Closing night was awesome. I got the most laughs that I had ever gotten that night, for the Sex...Wall Street part that is. Mom said it was the best perfomance she'd seen, though she only saw 1 dress and 1 other real performance. But still, it was a lot of fun. The other sad part is that tomorrow in tech theatre we get to strike down the set in order to set up for "Into the Woods".

Today I re-tried on my Snow Queen outfit. My aunt is going to make it even more beautiful than it already is. She's also going to fit it better. Right now it is a little big since the last time I had tried it on. I can't wait for it to be done!

I'm tired and I think I'll go to bed, but maybe not. Who knows?

Less Stress and Other Stuff

Well, I have decided to not continue to assist the ballet 6-8 year olds and I feel better now that a decision has been made. I'm still going to talk to Heather tomorrow, but I feel a lot better knowing that I can't do it all and it's ok. It's still hard for me to face the fact that I won't be assisting the cute little ones, but I know it'll be better for me, especially with the musical coming up! My dad and I had a very long talk Friday night/Saturday morning about this topic and both of us decided that not assisting this class would be better so that I can focus on doing plays (which will help me on my quest to going on Broadway). In this conversation, we also talked about the fact that I didn't have to do IB because it doesn't have anything to do with going on Broadway. That was a relief. This doesn't mean however that I won't be doing the program. It means that I can feel better about not getting all A's knowing that both my parents say that I don't need to do the IB program if I'm going to stress out al of the time. That was a great relief. I feel much better.

Tomorrow means two things, getting new pointe shoes and talking to Heather. Oh and also a choir concert. I'm excited for the first one and nervous for the other two. We'll see how it goes!

If anyone isn't doing anything on Wednesday, November 10, my cousin Jennifer is talking at my church. It should be very interesting. She 's the one who was in the Miss Minnesota pageant. You should come.

Also, Nutcracker update. The performances are Dec. 3 @ 7:00, Dec. 4 @ 2:00 and 6:30, and Dec. 5 @ 2:00. Tickets are $12.00. Yes it is expensive but not nearly as much as going down town. And you will know at least one person on the stage. Tickets are going fast, so if you want them, tell me and I will either get you tickets or give you my studio's number. It's at Century High School. I assure you, it'll be a great performance!
