Hectic but...worth it?
That is what I have been asking myself everyday for the past....hmmm.....3 weeks at least. Life has blown by and things are showing up that I thought wouldn't come for at least another month. For example, Crucible is coming up next week...meaning we open next week. Scary? I think so. What is strange is that I feel totally prepared. Usually I feel a little pressed for time, but for this shw I feel like we could perform tomorrow and we'd be fine. I kind of don't like this feeling. Weird? Yes, I know I am.
The time to decide where to spend next year has finally arrived. And I don't like having to decide. Scratch that...I hate it. There are so many pro's and con's to both Cal Lutheran and Otterbein that either one would be fine. I know I should ask my heart, but my heart is giving me mixed feelings as well. Oh...forgot to mention....I got a $7,000 music talent award from Otterbein....so I am in the music program. This is why choosing between Cal Lutheran and Otterbein just got a lot harder. However, I think I am going to go to Otterbein because I have wanted to go there from the very beginning. And if I go there, I could still get into the musicals and whatnot and then maybe show those drama people that I can act and then maybe get into the Musical Theatre program that way. However, I may end up liking music so much that I won't want to do theatre...however I think this is unlikely. So as of right now, Otterbein looks like the place I am going to be. But don't quote me on that because I really haven't decided yet, but it looks more in my favor than Cal Lutheran. Any thoughts...anyone?
For the past few weeks, rehearsals for Crucible have gone very late. And by very late I mean like 10:00 PM...no joke. I am just getting over a cold too, so having rehearsals run this long isn't helping. However, on Thursday, we got done at like 8:15. I was glorious. We didn't know what to do with ourselves. So Ryan, Nathan, and I went to Shari's and then to Ryan's and watched a Kung-Foo movie. Good times o' plenty. I think the show will be spectacular....well I hope it'll be. We have worked very hard and it has come together nicely.
I have decided that I really dispise English. Not Ms. Denny, but english...IB english to be precise. I don't like all of the work. On top of Crucible practice until who knows when, we had to do an outline/ paragraphs on a poem, passage, or questions from the novels each night. Even though we were only supposed to spend 15 minutes on them, they had to be good so I ended up spending much more time on them. And doing homework during rehearsal is impossible. No matter where you go, you can hear the screaming, yelling, whatever. You can't concentrate. Then, in class we would do the same kind of thing....that or a 1 hour practice essay. And most of the poems I didn't get so the outline/paragraphs/essays were horrible. And for the passages I didn't know what we were supposed to do because I was gone when it was explained, so those were bad too. Yes, I asked for help and all I got was, "It's like the commentary only written down." Ok...and....? SO yeah, I pretty much can't wait until IB tests are over.
Speaking of IB tests.....my IB Theatre stuff is done!!!! No more IB drama work!!! I'm sooo excited! Now I only have to worry about Myafete shows.....and I only have like 10 lines in one show and my character is spacey so I don't have to worry much.
Mayfete court is going well. Today we have a practice at Mohan's. I hope everyone is there, though I think some people will be gone. That will be unfortunate for them because we are adding on and finishing this sucker. I'm excited to perform it. I know it'll look great.
Well, I need to get going. There is an IB study party calling my name. Bye!
