Play Day

All day my thoughts and actions were on the play. It pretty much started in NHS when I did curls in Amber's hair for her fabulous hairstyle. For the first 2 periods, my mind wasn't solely on the play, but the thought was stashed away in the back corner of my brain. During lunch, I fixed Amber's hair. It didn't turn out exactly how it was supposed to, but it was my first time trying this particualr hairstyle. Then, with the remaining time, I did Maia's hair. Her hair carried over into 3rd period. Then 4th came....and so did Act 1. It didn't go too horribly. The class was critiquing us so it was slightly intimidating, however, I did get a comment saying that my character was the only one with a believable background to it. In other words, I had a believable character. I don't know who said that...the name wasn't on the comp book. Act 1 didn't go too badly. People laughed at Aario's and my pantomime thing. People in general laughed, which is good. After we performed Act 1, 5th period came along. I was slightly side tracked from thinking about the play, but it didn't last long. As soon as 5th was over, my mind was set in play mode. Act 2 went conciderably worse than Act 1. First off, we skipped some lines at the very beginning, then skipped some lines so a bookcase didn't get turned. Ben laughed on stage because he messed up....not a great idea. However, no glass broke this time. James, Ryan, and I got to use the lanterns, however, they weren't burning so we get to work with that tomorrow. My quick change went really smooth. Yay!

After play practice, Ryan and I went to get pizza while the rest of the cast worked on set. Once we got back, we helped with the set until Sil said we could eat. After eating, Ryan and I had an appointment with Ms. Erwin and Ms. Denny at the District Office to talk about Link Crew. It was fun. Before we went, we went on a grand adventure driving Amber to St. Matthew's. Then we attempted to find teh District Office in the dark, more challenging than we thought, but we made it. Then Ryana and I talked a but and so did Ms. Erwin and Ms. Denny. Our purpose there was to say what we did in Link Crew and why we wanted to do it, etc. After our 5 minute speech, we left. I took Aario and Ryan home amnd then proceeded to do homework. I still ahve to finish writing a 2 page paper thing for history that we got today. I decided to take a break and type for a bit, but I am afraid I must get back to my comp book and continue writing. Booo!

Tomorrow morning, I'm going to Amber's house to put her hair in curlers. She gets to wear them all day and then we get to take them out and style them. I'm excited.
