Senior Pics

Well, I'm taking my pictures on Thursday. Courtney came over and helped me with outfits. Yes it's true ladies and gentlemen, I can't dress myself. I need all the help I can get to put an outfit together that looks nice. And Courtney has that ability, so she helped me put together outfits and her mom (who also has great style) helped choose which ones actually looked nice and would be good for pictures. So I'm set for clothing and the day and place and the hair. Now all I need is the jewelry and the shoes. Courtney might be coming over to help with that. Yes, I am helpless.

Dance team today wasn't so bad. We learned the dance in about 45 minutes (well pretty much we all knew it, but had to go over it for the few who didn't know it). It actually looks pretty darn good.

I'd like to give a shout out to the movie Quest for Camelot. It is so good! I think it's my new favorite movie. It's like a Disney movie, but it's from Warner Bros. The soundtrack is awesome. I love the songs! If you get a chance to see it...I definitely recomend it.

Well that's it for now.

The Rest of My Day

So Brooke decided to cook something today, so we did. We made a chocolate chip cake, chocolate cream pie with chocolate chips, and chocolate chip cookies. Hmmmm...see a pattern? Anyway, all were very delicious...though I feel slightly sick from all that chocolate...but they tasted good when I first ate them.

We watched Million Dollar Baby. It was good. I didn't cry...like I thought I would, but that's fine. Now we're watching Quest for Camelot. I've never seen it before and so far it's good. Well, that's it for today.

Tomorrow, I babysit until 3:00 and then dance until 5:00. The end.

Scheduling Stuff

So my mom called school to try and get my schedule fixed..well to try and get me to have an appointment to get it fixed. Well, my counciler called (Mom had told her to) and here stands my schedule for 1st tri...no other possibilities because of IB:

0-TOK
1-IB English
2-IB Physics
1st Lunch
3B-IB 20th Cent. History
4-Drama
5-IB Calc 2

My 2nd tri will look similar with the exception that I'll have Encore zero period.

3rd tri made me really excited...why? Well ladies and gentlemen...my schedule will look something like this:

0-IB 20th Cent. History
1-IB English
2-IB Physics
1st Lunch
3B-Musical Theatre
4-Drama
5-open (possible Sil's aid)

I'm so excited that my counciler was willing to move me to Musical Theatre. I feel kind of bad because the choir teacher called my house befor emy counciler did and asked whether I was in Encore or not because I wasn't on the role sheet for 1st tri. I told her that I was trying to fix it, but I most likely wouldn't have Encore 1st tri because of IB (which is true). I also said I wasn't sure about 3rd tri but I was sure about 2nd tri. So I feel bad for wanting to get Musical Theatre over Encore...but I really enjoy choreographing dances and being in Musical Theatre in general. The downside is that I won't be singing nearly as much, but I usually sing at home a lot.

Also, speaking of singing, Scott didn't call our house or my mom's work and Karen had emailed me about getting back to her before Monday, so I emailed her with my schedule. So Michelle, it looks like I'll be going back to Karen unless Scott calls soon. I'm ok with going back to Karen because I did do really well with her this past year. And I'd rather have a voice teacher than not have one, so it looks like voice lessons with Karen it is.

Brooke and I played Disney Scene It. I won...but not by much. I love that game. You guys should try it sometime. Another game I'd like to try is the Harry Potter Scene It. That game looks like a lot of fun.

Dog Bath

I think the most exciting thing that happned to me today was Brooke and I gave Sophi (our man eating dog) and bath. She didn't really enjoy it, but she didn't freak out...like we thought she would. And Brooke and I ended up spraying each other with the hose.

We also did yard work today.

After yard work and Sophi washing, we went to Red Robins for dinner. It was good, as always.

I went over my dance I choreographed and was surprised that I could actually read my notes and remember the choreography. I also went over the DT dances I did, so as not to forget them. And the one I really like doing (but is pretty fast and hard) I did pretty well, with no mistakes once it was done a couple times. I hope to do this one, but it is rather difficult when done with the music. It's not a problem when done slower, but the music just makes it more complicated. But, I finally was able to do it with no mistakes, though I know it didn't look as cool as when Stephanie did it. Yay for the ballerina in me :)

That's it. The end.

Things I Forgot

Well, I wanted to say that "I watched Thoroughly Modern Millie last night", but forgot so..."I watched Thoroughly Modern Millie 2 nights ago". It was pretty darn good. I enjoyed it thoroughly. And along with tonight's features of Wee Sing tapes, I watched A Chorus Line. It was good too. I liked the dancing. And I did recognize Michael Douglas in it (I'm usually bad at those kinds of things). Well, that was it. Oh...I forgot...I checked my IB scores (finally) and found out that I got a 5 in both Calc and French. Not bad for me. I'm happy. I figured I had gotten a 5 in French since Alison had gotten a 6 and she's way better than me in French, but Madame had scored us pretty close. If that made any sense to anyone else but me, congrats. I really don't know how to put that in words that make sense. Anyway, I had to check my scores and I remebered as I was about to go to sleep, so that's why I'm up so late. Well, that's it. Goodnight...morning.

Old Videos

Pretty much today Brooke, Dad, Mom, Aunty Bette, and I watched old Wee Sing Tapes. It was great. As of right now, we're not done yet, but the night is still young. Does anyone remember the Wee Sing tapes? I loved them when I was little. Guess what? All of the Wee Sing series were taped in Oregon. That's right ladies and gentlemen...some kid movies were taped in Oregon. I know someone who was in one...Rachel Huey was in Wee Sing the Best Christmas Ever. I say that musical theatre should do a Wee Sing for a show. They are really easy songs that most of us have heard before. While watching these, I was reminded of the Adventures of MK and A. Sometimes the kids aren't on pitch. Also, the acting for the kids is pretty funny. The lines are cheezy, but loved these shows, so the little kids we perform for would love them too. Jennifer and Michelle, I think you'd really enjoy them.

Along with our slew of Wee Sings, we watched a Power Ranger episode. I loved Power Rangers when I was little. This episode was quite exhilarating. I had forgotten how cheezy Power Rangers were. But, I loved them...especially Kimberly.

My only out of the house activity was going to Jo-Anne's Fabric with my aunt to get patterns for Sil for the plays next year. It was fun. I'm not at liberty to say what they are because she's not really sure if we're going to do the fall one, but we got patterns for it anyway.

I also did a bit of yard work.

Well, that's my day today. Pretty exciting huh?

What to do?

So I woke up this morning at about 11:50. From here, I went online and talked for a bit. Then I went to get my eyebrows done. You may ask why I did this. Well, Mom wanted them done before I took senior pictures so I got them done today. From here, I stayed at home doing nothing until my aunt, sister, and I went to see "The Brothers Grimm". It was an interesting movie. Once we got home, I watched the DT camp I wasn't at to 1) remember the dances and 2) see how the lyrical looked without the 3 people who actually knew it. It wasn't half bad. After that, Brooke turned on...guesses anyone? You're right...Stargate. So that is our current feature. Overall, my day wasn't that exciting.

Thursday, August 25, 2005

Todat started ok. I woke up at 11:00 and went to Link Crew. Jennifer and Elizabeth visited. After they left, we got to business and found out our partners and our freshmen. I didn't know my partner or any of my freshmen, but that's fine. I had at least seen my partner around school a couple of times.

After Link Crew was done, I drove to Jennifer's and stayed there until I was kicked out because they had to go to the airport. I had a great time at Jennifer's. Elizabeth was there when I showed up. We talked and laughed. It was great. Soon after, Chris stopped by, followed shortly after by Lenny. We watched MK and A the Case of the Logical I Ranch. It was hilarious. How they made money, we'll never know. We then played some card games. Megan showed up while we were playing a card game, so she joined us in cards after we were done. Then we played Imagineiff. It was fun. Jennifer won. Then it was time for her to leave. We were all kicked out of the house. This was definitely the first time I've been kicked out. It was a weird feeling...well, knowing that Jennifer was leaving was a weird feel too. After we said our goodbyes, Jennifer left and the rest of us stood in her drive way for about another 15 minutes talking.

Megan came over afterward and watched DT tapes and Nutcracker (her wish...I didn't force it upon her). We had a great time.

Today was an interesting day. It really hasn't hit me yet that my senior friends have gone and I won't see them for about 4 months.

Jennifer, oh Jennifer. You mean the world to me. I'm so glad you are my friend. Thank you for your kind words, smiling face, hugs...everything. You have helped me become a better person. I miss you so much! But I know I will see you in 4 months. Keep in touch...and I will do the same. I love you! I know you will go far in life.

Up and Down Kind of Day

This morning started very early for me. I left my house at 6:20 to say my last good bye to Michelle and give her the present I had meant to give her once upon a time ago. I was thrilled to see her one last time...before she comes back in October (hopefully).

After that, I went home and slept for an hour. Then I got ready for Dance Team pictures. The pictures went well; as did the camp. However, Miriam and I decided to call Ms. Erwin and ask if we could stay and do the recital thing and then go to Link Crew. Unfortunately, we never got a hold of her. MJ and I thought it would be a good idea if a captain or 2 stayed for the recital because all 4 of us would be leaving for Link Crew and that wouldn't look so good. Also, we thought that if we did get a hold of Ms. Erwin, we'd ask if the seniors who had done Link Crew last year and wanted to stay could stay. But, like I said before, we didn't get a hold of her. Amanda had other ideas however. She insisted that Ms. Erwin would be furious and not let us do Link Crew if we were more than an hour late. I told her that I had talked to Ms. Erwin and she knew we were going to be late, though how late...she didn't know and as long as we all showed up together it shouldn't be a big deal. But, in the end, Amanda won and we all left...me not getting to perform my favorite dance, but luckily getting it taped at a rehearsal. So here's what really makes me irritated. Amanda C, Amanda H, MJ, Cora, Courtney, Natalie, and Whitney decided to go to Littel Caesar's for a quick lunch because they weren't sure if there would be enough food once we got there. Margaret had left earlier than us, because she was worried about getting there (she had never done Link Crew before). Anyway, she gave me a call and said there was plently of food, so I went to school instead of going to pizza. Well, by this time, I was at school at 1:00, so I was only an hour late. 30 minutes later who should walk in...the other dance teamers. Not only were they an hour and a half late, but I could have been at the studio performing and gone to school before they had even arrived at school. I was pretty mad. And then, Ms. Erwin congratulated them for being able to play a game and eat at the same time (they had grabbed some of the extra food). Yeah, I didn't get any recognition for being closer to on time than they were yet they get praise. How fair is that? Anyway, I was pretty irritated...especially at Amanda C. Out of the 4 captains, I think she was the only one who didn't want to dance at the recital thing. I could be wrong, but I know for sure MJ and I wanted to dance in it and from what Courtney told me, so did Cora. I feel that Amanda is taking over the team and I don't know how to stop her! Ok, that was a little exaguration, but I feel frusterated whenever I think about DT camp today. I guess being up at 6:15 could have something to do with it too.

On a lighter note, I had a wonderful time with Emma and Jennifer. Emma and I went to the Streets of Tanisbourne and went to see Jennifer there. After playing a game of chess (which I won) at a quaint coffee place, we went on an adventure. We went to a pedestrian bridge over highway 26 and took pictures of Emma on it. It took forever for Jennifer and myself to get our act together, but finally the pictures were taken and I know they'll look spectacular.

After this exciting adventure, I went home and played a game of Break the Safe with my parents (Brooke is at friend's house). We had a great time. Then we talked for a while about the dance team issue, senior pictures, high school reunions, plays, and a bunch of other topics. It was great.

Overall, the day was ok, but it definitely had it's up's and down's. I hope tomorrow will go better.

It's So Hard to Say Goodbye

It's so true...what the title says. I just spent a fabulous day with Michelle and I really didn't want it to end. I really don't know what to say. I'm really going to miss her...a lot! I just wrote "really" in the last 3 sentences, but I can't think of a better word right now.

At Michelle's, I helped her finish packing, and by helped I mean she looked through stuff and said, "Here, you can have this" or "I need to keep this" or "Throw away!" Soon after I arrived, Chris Thompsen came over. He helped with Michelle's packing as well. We had a great time. Chris even tried on last years dance team performance top...can we saw hottness? (and yes that is hott with 2 t's!) Anyway, Michelle became hungry, so we headed over to Pizza Schmitza (or however you spell it) and had a grand time there. After filling our hungry bellies, we headed back to Michelle's, where she sang a bit. Even though she may deny it, she sounded gorgeous. Jennifer came over and visited for a bit...I really don't look foreward to Thursday when I have to say goodbye to this amazing friend. Anyway, both Chris and I left about the same time and I headed home. Gosh I'm going to miss Michelle.

Michelle, first off, I forgot, yet again, to give you your present from me, so whether you want to see me or not tomorrow at 6:30...I'm coming to give it to you. I would rather not wait until November to give it to you. Secondly, I admire you so much. You have no idea how much you mean to me. Thank you for helping me with everything...from drama to singing to dancing...everything. I'll never forget our Karen moments. They were great. Please keep in touch. IM me as much as possible...let me know what's going on in college. Email is good too. Don't worry about your audition...you'll be great, I know it. I love you so much.

Dance Drama

I didn't think the drama would come until state, but it has come early this year...like 7 months too early! Oh boy. I know it will subside soon, but it kind of makes me irritated.

Today, I went to Coffee Rush to visit Charlotte (like I had promised) and got myself a delicious Chai Tea. I should go there more often and get Chai. Actually, I think we have Chai tea at my house...I should probably look that up sometime.

Registration took unnecessarily long this morning. I got there at 8:10 and there was already a line! It was insane. And my schedule is screwed up. But, hopefully I'll get Musical Theatre once I am done fixing it.

That's about it for now. Oh and I might be extremely depressed on Wednesday and Thursday, so I apologize for any inconvenience.

Ice Cream Social

This has nothing to do with an ice cream social, but I do know of someone who had one today and I had t call this post something, so it is Ice Cream Social.

Anyway, I went to a pretty neat singing thing tonight. There were 3 people I knew who sang in this program. The group sang some classical songs and a few musical numbers. There were also instrumentalists who were awesome. Overall, the program was great. The singers were pretty much people older than 55, but they didn't have the 80 year old vibrato...which was pleasing to me.

We saw Valliant today. It was cute. I wouldn't recommend it unless you had nothing else to see and wanted a true family film, but it was cute.

That's pretty much it. And no, I haven't reached a decision on if I'm switching voice teachers or not. I really don't know, but I suppose I should get a move on that.

Music Dilemma

I was just singing "The Phantom of the Opera" for kicks and I remembered that I need to fill out this form for Karen (my current voice teacher) so I can continue studying with her. This made me remember that I have a dilemma. I don't have a problem with Karen, I just feel that I need to be pushed a little more than she is doing. I would love to go to Scott over at Pacific because I liked him ever since he was my judge at Solo/Ensemble my 7th grade year. Some reasons for not going are 1) he's way over at Pacific and I don't really have time to drive way over there, 2) Karen is right here, and 3) I kind of like being lazy. With Karen, I've had the confidence to say, "I would like to sing this song sometime" and she'll usually let me do so. If I moved to Scott, I'd feel overwhelmed and definitely not as confident, so I most likely wouldn't be able to sing some of the songs I would like to sing. Also, with the no time to go over to Pacific, if I had Sil 5th period I know she would let me leave once a week to go sing. Unfortunately, drama is 4th period and I don't think that my 5th period teacher would be as understanding (though I don't know who that is yet). And I know I could always do the "I have a doctor's appointment" thing, but my parents wouldn't be too fond of that, since they don't like lying like that. Also, my family has a problem with being too loyal. I'd feel bad about leaving and my parents would too. However, my parents are fine with whatever decision I make. They would be happy with whatever. I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do. Please let me know what you think.

Not So Ordinary Day

Today was interesting. We had pizza at Godfather's...something we haven't done in a long time. When I say long, I mean at least 3 years. And by 3 years I mean haven't gone to a sit down pizza place...we usually get delivery or get Papa Murphy's. Being the crazy family we are, my parents decided to visit the Godfather's that Scott works at...which is pretty far for us considering we have one like 2 minutes away. I still can't believe we went. But this 6 week trip has caused my parents to become even more crazy than they already were. So we had a grand time at Godfather's and did visit a bit with Scott.

After that, we went shopping for school stuff. Gross! Didn't find anything, but Brooke and I did witness our first ever fashion show. At Fashion Bug there was a fashion show and Brooke knew 2 girls who were modeling, so we stayed until they modeled their outfits.

Then I went home and got ready for Jennifer's party.

I had a great time at Jennifer's party. I saw a bunch of people I didn't think I'd see for a long time. Gosh I'm going to miss so many people. I kind of don't want this week to happen...ever. It can just not come. Anyway, I had a great time. And overall today really wasn't an ordinary day...hense the titile :) Well, good night all.

Movies

Today I saw "Red Eye" with my aunt. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. Since I have a very vivid imagination, the littlest things can give me nightmares for weeks. This movie won't give me nightmares. Don't get me wrong; it was tense, but it wasn't scary. I think my favorite part was when the guy was behind the door (unknown to the audience and the actress) and she closed the door and the music jumped and the actress jumped. Why was this the best part? My aunt pretty much yelled, "Oh!" and jumped a foot in the air. It was one of those moments where you expected he was behind the door but you jump anyway. I just wasn't expecting any noise from my aunt. Yeah, I laughed a lot. Her jumping pretty much broke the tension. Overall, I liked the movie, though I think I liked "Skeleton Key" better.

Michelle came over for a bit to return Wicked adn get her CD's that were in the dance team binder she gave me to give to our coach. We sang a bit too. It was fun. I enjoy singing with her. Though, I think that she is probably one of the few people I can't regain composure and sing again once we start laughing. It's really hard for me to continue singing once we start laughing. All I can say is...good times.

Oh and Michelle, don't worry about your auditions. You have a beautiful voice and you sound great on both songs. Just remember, you are your worst critic. And of course I'll continue to be here for you whenever you want to sing :)

Jennifer, I can't wait to see you tomorrow! I miss seeing your smiling face and sweet nature!

Well, dinner's almost ready so that's all for now. Oh, I changed my screen name for AIM. I thought it was time to learn how to do so and I had wanted it changed for a while. So, it is now different. rcbdancer17

Dumb Knee

Well, my last day of summer classes was ruined because my knee decided to malfunction. It started to hurt during dance team this morning while we were doing stunts. After we were done with the jazz part, we moved on to ballet, which I sat out most of the class. It hurt to bend my knee, so I couldn't jump or turn. Then I took a 4 hour relaxation period, in which I did homework and went to Michelle's to help her find a song to sing for an audition. Then I went to dance. I was only able to warm up because my knee hurt to bend. Well, once we got to turns, my knee stopped hurting when I bent it, so I tried a few turns. After doing a few, my knee suddenly locked, and I couldn't straighten it without being in pain. So I sat out the rest of jazz class. I wasn't planning on doing ballet, just sit there and watch, but my teacher said to go home and ice my knee. So I went home. Brooke and Dad told me to go swimming, so I did and my knee felt a little better. Soon after, however, my knee hurt to do anything. So now I'm limping around the house in pretty much severe pain (only when I move my knee or put pressure on it). I do beleive, I put this pain upon myself. I think that my knee swelled under the knee cap from not doing dance for 6 weeks and then going into over 10 hours of dance a week. I guess I won't be doing that again. Well, that's it for now.

Singing Party and What Not

First off, is "What Not" one word or two? Anyone? It doesn't really matter. I was just curious.

Anyway, today started off very tiring. I danced for 3 hours and then went to lunch with dance team. Then I watched a few home videos. Aunty Bette called after a while and we went to see "Skeleton Key". It wasn't bad. I thought it was going to be scary, but it wasn't. It was interesting. Once at home, we (whole family) cleaned the house so it would look nice for our guests, who would arrive soon. While I was at the movie, they were cleaning. I guess I win. Anyway, in about 30 minutes, our guests arrived.

You amy ask why we had guests. Well, we (the guests and myself) had a singing party. Now you all may be wondering who these guests are. They are none other than Michelle Burnett and Scott Smith. We had a great time...at least I did, I can't really speak for the other 2 seeing as how I am not either. We started in the living room. Michelle and I sang our beqautiful rendition of "As Long As You're Mine", and by beautiful I mean hilarious. Then we sang "What is this Feeling", which went much better. We then listened to "A Step Too Far", a song from "Aida" that is a trio (2 girls and a boy). We didn't attempt it, but I'm sure it would have been hilarious. Then we mosied on back to the piano and looked for songs to sing. Didn't find any that fit our fancy, so we retired to the TV and watched videos. We watched "Sound of Music" (parts of it), then the Spring Choir Concert (again parts), then "Into the Woods" (most of it). We laughed a lot and talked a lot too. Then we watched a bit of "You Can't Take It with You" (the scene with Michelle and Ermine). It was a good one :) By this time it was almost 11:00 so they decided to leave. Can I say I miss them already? We need to have another one of these again...maybe we could actually do a little singing this time :) Actually, I love watching home videos...if you haven't already guessed that. Oh and Michelle sang "The Kool-Aid Song"...just for Brooke. Michelle, Brooke really appreciated it.

Well, Brooke is now watching Stargate, but that's ok because I took over the TV while Michelle and Scott were here so she had a whole 3 hours without it. She started over so the Pilot is on.

I have dance team tomorrow morning. It's the last one until next week.

I'm tired but probably won't go to bed for a while. Why? Because I'm a night owl. Well, good night...kind of.

Dance, Dance, oh and Sing

This morning I went to dance team. At dance team we did a lot of the same stuff we did yesterday, however this time my arms hurt from yesterday's workout. Tonight at dance, my knees started acting up again. I think it's from lack of dance and then suddenly tons of it.

Good news as far a senior pictures go. So I didn't call anyone while on our trip so the pickings looked slim. However, while we were away, a friend of ours took pictures of Courtney and her brother and they looked so good. So we asked if she would do my senior pics and she said yes. Apparently she's getting a lot of business now. I'm excited because she is a family friend so I won't really feel that awkward.

Michelle came over for 30 minutes to sing. It was great. And I'm really excited for tomorrow! I'll say more about that later.

Sophi just ran outside and I had to chase her for a bit before finally grabbing her tail and then grabbing hold of her collar and then dragging her back to the house. And yes all of this was done in my PJ's. For a smart dog, Sophi sure doesn't mind well. I called her name a lot and she ran. Well, I guess she knew she was in trouble. The reason for the outbreak...Dad's friend Joe came over and Sophi barked at him and jumped on the glass door, which opened because the door isn't that good). I thought she would just stay by Joe, but oh no...she had to run straight across the caul-de-sack to the other side so I had to run after her. I know that this exercise wasn't bad for me, but I was in my PJ's and had just gotten back from 4 hours of dance. As of right now, Sophi is sulking in her dog house outside. Yeah, I know she knows she's in trouble.

Brooke's cooking dinner and Stargate isn't on...at least not yet. That's pretty much it. Tomorrow is going to be a fun day (both sarcastically and really). I can't wait.

Schedule Changes and Dance

Ok, so my schedule has changed and I thought I'd up date it anyway, so that I won't forget when is what. So here:

Aug. 16- 9 PM-12 PM: Dance Team
4-8: Dance class

Aug. 17- 9 AM-12 PM: Dance Team

Aug. 18- 9 AM-12 PM: Dance Team
4-8: Dance class

Aug. 19-

Aug. 20- 6 PM- ?: Party at Jennifer's

Aug. 21- 8:00 AM: Church

Aug. 22- 9 AM-5 PM: Dance Team

Aug. 23- 9 AM-5 PM: Dance Team

Aug. 24- 9 AM-2 PM: Dance Team
12-4: Link Crew

Aug. 25- 12-4: Link Crew

Good news! The dance I was supposed to choreograph for RCB is done! All 6 minutes and 23 seconds of it is finished. Now all I have to do is teach it, though when that will be I don't know.

Well, Brooke's watching Stargate (the last episode we have on DVD)and we're about to have pizza so, good night!

Beach Times and More

I will start off by saying that Brooke has once again gotten another boyfriend. That's right ladies and gentlemen, my sister found another cute guy, this time at the beach. His name was Ely and he was our waiter (as opposed to Chris, who was just the guy who took us to our seats). Ely was very entertaining. He did a Polish accent for our enjoyment and yes, he flirted. I didn't make a fool of myself this time either. Brooke says taht he had a "thing" for me, but I pointed out that I was the only one at the table closest to his age. She agreed, but I know she was suddenly wishing she was my age. Oh Brooke.

The beach was fun. Brroke took her friend Gabby Walti along. We had a great time. Sophi came too and wasn't too much of a problem. She did bark fiersly at a tall, wooden man that was on the beach. It was pretty funny.

Before going to the beach, we did yard work. I have decided that I will make a horrible house wife, so I'll either hire someone to do yard work for me or marry some guy who loves to do yard work. Or I could do both. Right. Ok, well I am really tired so good night!

Happy Birthday Megan!

Actually, her birthday's tomorrow, but we celebrated it today by going to dinner at the Olive Garden. I personally didn't have anything food wise (since I came straight from a wedding), but I shared a bit of dessert with everybody. The dessert was delicious! Megan, you rock! I am so blessed to have you as a friend.

today I went to lunch with Jennifer, Elizabeth, Kirsten, and Elisha. We went to the same teriyaki place I went to last time. It was just as good as last time too. I enjoy outings. As my parents told Brooke when she asked where I was going... "She actaully has a social life!" Yes ladies and gentlemen, I, Crystal Carlisle, have a social life. Amazing, I know!

The wedding was probably the shortest one I've ever been to. It was a grand total of 10 mintues. It was a nice wedding, just really short.

Tomorrow my family and I are going to the beach to meet some relatives and show them around. Brooke's for once NOT watching Stargate. Shocking isn't it? She's working on shoulder rolls because she has to do them in a dance. I actually get the TV for once. Woo hoo! Well, that's it for now. Good night all!

Drive-In

Tonight was awesome! I love drive-ins! They are pretty much the best thing in the world. I suggest that everyone should go to a drive-in at least once in their lives. I had the best time with Kirsten and Jennifer. Oh, and the movies weren't bad either :) Well, that's it for tonight...today. Good night...day.

Homework

As of right now, I am sitting at the lap top re-writing my english papers for IB. So far, the one I'm fixing right now is going a lot better than it started out to be. But I am as bored as ever.

Brooke is watching Stargate (surprise surprise) and the dance tapes haven't come yet. It would be a nice anniversary present if they came today, wouldn't it?

Right now, I'd rather be choreographing a dance I get to do for RCB. It'll be a lot of fun. I have choreography in my head, but I need to put it on paper and see if it works. I really want tpo do that, but unfortunately I need to work on my papers. Booo!

That's it for now. I can't wait to go to the movies tonight! I've never been to a real drive-in before. Oh and Jennifer...we still are going for ice cream before, right?

Schedule and Such

I decided to post my schedule for the next few weeks, as far as I know. This will benefit me, in that I'll be looking every night at my blog so I'll know what's going on, and it'll tell those people who wish to spend time with me (which should be all of you :)) what my schedule is. So here I go...:

Aug. 12- Dusk: Movie with Jennifer and who ever else decides to go

Aug. 13- Wedding at sometime
Possible luncheon with Jennifer, Elizabeth, and Kirsten

Aug. 14- 8:00 AM: Church

Aug. 15- 10 AM-1 PM: Dance Team
5-8 : Dance class

Aug. 16- 10 AM-1 PM: Dance Team
4-8: Dance class

Aug. 17- 10 AM-1 PM: Dance Team

Aug. 18- 10 AM-1 PM: Dance Team
4-8: Dance class

Aug. 19-

Aug. 20- Evening: Party at Jennifer's

Aug. 21- 8:00 AM: Church

Aug. 22- 9 AM-5 PM: Dance Team

Aug. 23- 9 AM-5 PM: Dance Team

Aug. 24- 9 AM-2 PM: Dance Team
12-4: Link Crew

Aug. 25- 12-4: Link Crew

OK, that's really as far as I know right now. And some of it could be wrong. Like the 9-5 Dance Team thing...I don't really know if it's that long or what. Anyway, I know this will help me and I hope it'll help you.

As for what I did today...I danced, saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and watched The Alamo and Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind with my family. Yeah it was a productive day yet again. Good night all.

Tomorrow is my parent's 28th wedding anniversary. I'm not sure what they're doing, but I'm sure they'll go out somewhere nice to eat. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

What is this Feeling?

Well, I have had a lot of different feelings today, though most consisted of pain. Why pain? If you don't know already, see the previous post. Brooke and I had to literally pull ourselves from out of the car using all of our arm strength, which was little because our arms hurt horribly too. Yeah, we were pretty pathetic. Also, my stomach was cramping all day. And, for the first time in my life I had something frozen. My doctor's appointment was to get some irritating skin tags off and the doctor suggested freezing them. He said only a little burning sensation...yeah right! It hurt for at least 30 minutes after he had frozen them. I hope I don't have to freeze anything ever again. My dentist appointment went well. My teeth looked very pretty, so said my hygenist (or however you spell it).

So besides pain, I also felt joy. My teeth for one thing but also we went to a music store and bought the music to Wicked. Yeah, that was great. Michelle came over and we sang a bit. It was great fun. Not only did we sing properly, but we also probably ruined our voices (well we didn't help them any) by singing to Kereoke Revolution. We tried to convince Brooke to play, but she didn't because, I believe, she didn't want to sound stupid in front of Michelle. We both said we didn't care, but she didn't sing and got out of it when her friend Gabby called. I think one of my favorite parts of the day was when Michelle and I attempted to sing "What is this Feeling" in many different versions. The best one was our first attempt. When I say attempt, I mean attempt. It was pretty hilarious. By the end we got it together and agreed that Michelle is much better at Galinda's part than I. So if we ever sing it for anyone, she will most likely play Galinda while I play Elphaba.

Dad and I watched part of "The Alamo" tonight. It was supposed to be a family, historical movie (historical because it is and we've been there). But Mom was already in bed and Brooke became bored within a few minutes of the movie, so Dad and I decided to watch it tomorrow, since both of us were pretty tired too. If that made any sense what so ever, I'd be amazed. :)

I'm somewhat excited for tomorrow because it means Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We are going to see it with Aunty Bette (we being Brooke, myself, and possibly Dad...Mom will be at work). Also, tomorrow means dance. I'm less excited for that because I am extremely sore, but I have jazz first so I can kill myself right off, then go to ballet, and then tumble a bit. It'll be a great day...I hope. But it would be even better if my dance tapes would come!

Overall, I guess I haven't felt a lot of feelings, but it sure seemed like it. I guess that's just because I was in a lot of pain. I swear I'll never leave 6 weeks in between dancing ever again.

I'm Dead

Yes that's right ladies and gentlemen. Jazz killed me. Tomorrow both Brooke and myself will be wattling everywhere. We will be extremely sore. Actually, I stared to shake during ballet and went straight to jazz after that. Yeah, I'm definitely out of shape (dance wise). Tomorrow I'm going to the dentist at 1:00 and then going to a doctor's appointment at 4:30. But on a good note, I can rest up from dying today because there is no dance tomorrow. And my dance tapes had better come tomorrow or else the tape people are going to be in big trouble! Well, that's it for now.

Jennifer, am I cool enough to be on your blog thing on the side of your blog yet? And we need to do something together sometime.

Michelle, when are we going to sing together? Call me! I suppose I could call you too, but I'm dead so...

Good night all.

Sittin Here Doin Nothin

Pretty much I've been up since 11:30 this morning and have done absolutly nothing productive. We were supposed to take the kitchen ceiling from the kitchen and put it in a dumpster, only the dumpster hasn't come yet. I watched a few Stargates with Brooke (she's watching them all the time, though when the dance tapes come she said I could have the big TV. Let's hope they come soon). I also watched the Variety show from this year (select songs as always), the spring and fall choir concerts (parts of each), parts of the Royal Ballet's Nutcracker, and ABT's Swan Lake. All this to bide my time until the mail comes and I can be disappointed yet again because the dance tapes haven't come. After I do some things on the computer, I think I'll check the mail again, to see if it has come yet. Then Dad is going to have Brooke and me take the Kitchen ceiling outside, even though the dumpster hasn't come yet (I was just given this information). At 4:00 I go to dance and stay there until 7:45. If I never post again it is most likely because I died while doing Jazz. I can't wait. I hope this evening will be more eventful than this afternoon.

Fun Stuff

This afternoon I had the pleasure of having lunch with Jennifer, Kirsten, Emma, and Michelle. It was fun. We talked buisness (thespians) and talked in general.

Today was my first dance class in 5 weeks. It killed me and it was ballet. I'm not saying that it was easy, but if that killed me, I can't wait for jazz. I also learned a RCB dance today. It's not really that hard. We run around in a flat back position a lot. I'm so glad to be back at dance. However, the tapes still haven't come, so we'll be giving the tape people a call soon.

I wathced Miss Teen USA. The girl who one didn't answer the final question, but she had a great personality. I mean to say that she didn't answer her final question in the way it was meant to be answered, but I liked her the best out of the top 5.

I'm so happy to be home! But unfortunately that also means doing house work. Tomorrow Brooke and I are loading the dumpster with the Kitchen ceiling. Oh boy, can't wait. I think I'd rather do my homework. Did I really say that? Well, good night!

Day After Getting Home

Today was a nice day. I actually slept in. It was a very nice feeling. Then we went to March of the Penguins. It wasn't too bad. For a non-animal movie go-er, I enjoyed it. I wouldn't necessarily advise going if you'd rather see an action packed movie. But it was one of those fall asleep ones you watch in school. Why? Well because it was by National Geographic. So it was sciency. But the music went well with what the penguins did.

Jennifer and Michelle came over today. It was sooooooooooo nice to see them. I loved it! I was thrilled to see both. We talked for a while and then they left, going separate ways, one to read, the other to house sit.

Congratulations to Miriam! I read on Jennifer's blog about her. That's really exciting!

Now my family and I are going to play Life, the pirate way, so good night everyone.

Home at Last!

AUGUST 3
Today wasn’t such an exciting day. I think the most exciting thing was getting to our hotel, which has a 130 foot water slide. We plan on swimming for a bit tomorrow.

We drove a lot today. We stopped at Chimney Rock, Jail and Courthouse Rocks, and Carhenge. Carhenge was interesting. It looked like Stonehenge except with cars. Don’t worry; we have pictures.

I can’t believe our trip is almost over. Actually, I have to say that I’m anxious to get to Billings, Montana because that means the day after we’re going to be home.

Sophi apparently decided to get friendly with a skunk. The problem was that the skunk didn’t want to be friends, so Sophi woke up Eileen and Courtney at 2:30 AM. I’m glad it didn’t happen while we were at home, but I am really sorry it happened while we were away. Does that make sense?

From now on, we will be internet-less. So I will post our trip home once at home. Sorry for the inconvenience. Or maybe it’s not an inconvenience.

Well, tomorrow night we should be in Billings. Good night all. And I’ll se you in about 3 days!

AUGUST 4
We visited Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Devil’s Tower today. It was a lot of driving to each monument.

Mt. Rushmore was by far my favorite. We had been there about 8 years ago and let me tell you, it certainly has changed since then. When we went 8 years ago, we couldn’t get very close to it and the path was dirt. Now, it has a huge visitor’s center, with food and souvenirs. There is a cement path way and a President’s Walk, where you can get pretty close to the mountain. It was very different. Also, for the first time in history, they had cleaned the faces of the mountain. It looked new. We took some pictures by some rocks and trees. Some of the pictures would make very nice Senior Pictures, but don’t worry; I’m still getting professional ones done. In all, we spent about 2 hours there.

We didn’t spend much time at Crazy Horse. Actually, we just turned around because it was $24 to get in. And since it wasn’t finished yet, we decided to just see it from where we were.

Devil’s Tower was interesting. It wasn’t impressive from far away, but it was pretty cool up close. It had a weird design. There were strips of mountain that stuck out a little farther than other parts of the mountain. It also had a green is color to it. It sounds a little weird, I know, but you’ll have to see it by pictures to hopefully see what I mean.

By 10:30 PM, we finally made it to Grandma’s house in Billings, MT. I’m really glad we made it for 2 reasons, 1) I’m familiar with this area and 2) after tomorrow, we’re taking the all too familiar journey home! See you all in a bit!

AUGUST 5
For the first time in a long time, I actually slept in. I slept in until 10:30! I know that’s not that late, but for me it was.

We went to see Sky High. It was cute. I might go see it again with Brooke. It was kind of predictable, but overall it was a great family film. One of my favorite parts was when they open up the refrigerator and the girl behind us goes, “Hey. They have a refrigerator just like ours!” I love it when people think it is appropriate to speak out loud. At least Brooke and I have the decency to put our heads together and whisper. Anyway, if you want a good laugh that comes in a family package, I recommend Sky High.

And guess what? We leave for home tomorrow! Yay! My guess is that we’ll be at home at 2 AM Sunday, but the others say before midnight. We’ll see who’s right. I am ready to be home.

Overall, this trip has been a blast. It’s hard to believe that it’s almost over. It doesn’t seem like it’s been 6 weeks. Ok, it does seem like that but then again it doesn’t. I don’t know. It seems like such a long time ago that we went to Disney World. But it doesn’t seem like our trip could be over yet because that means that school is almost going to start. That’s scary! Well, I’ll be glad to be home. See you tomorrow!

AUGUST 6
Well, we made it home, finally. After being forced to use a detour, twice, a set back that put us at least two hours back, we finally got home. I know Eileen is glad we’re home.

I have found that for a smart dog, Sophi is pretty dumb. First, she got skunked (which you all know the story). Then she decided to take a dip in the pool. Ok, she was chasing an animal and almost fell in, but saved herself. Then she decided to go for a swim. She was chasing a squirrel and ran over the bubble stuff that covers our pool when not in use. Well, she got stuck and decided to run to the middle to run straight across. That didn’t work, so she panicked. Eileen was finally able to get her out, but she could have drowned. Sophi had tried to run across the bubble stuff on her previous pursuit of an animal, but didn’t run across because she realized she could stand on it. See what I mean? She knew that she couldn’t stand on it, yet while chasing a squirrel, she runs across it anyway. And of course, none of this has ever happened while we were at home, so naturally what Mom feared most happened while we were away. For these reasons, I know Eileen will be glad we’re back.

The car ride was long and boring. It seemed a lot longer than usual. I guess that’s because we were so anxious to get home.

I finally finished Fried Green Tomatoes. I liked it. I also started and finished Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in the car. It was an interesting book. I have seen both the Disney version and the real live version with Whoopi Goldberg and Miranda Richardson, among others. As I was reading, I saw both versions in my head, though both have a bit of Through the Looking Glass in them. Anyway, the book was interesting. I liked it...I guess. By the way, my godmother said that hi-lighting and taking notes is a waste of time and detracts from the book. In plain terms, she says it’s stupid. She would do it for extra-credit, but in no way would she do it for reading a required book. Finally, an adult who agrees with me!

Now that I’m home, and my dance tapes aren’t here yet, we get to bug the guy who makes them, like we do every year. This year, however, we thought the tapes would be here because we were gone and hadn’t bugged them about it. Don’t worry; it’s playful bugging. It’s not harmful in any way. I’m a little disappointed that they’re not here yet because now I have to suffer with watching Stargate 24/7. Oh joy. Can’t wait.

As for the homework front, I wish I had remembered that I had TOK over the summer. Actually, I didn’t know we had it until the car ride home. Then I started the horrifying task of re-writing my English papers from last year. Yeah, these next 2 weeks are going to be great. I HATE writing essays. I suck at them and no matter how I try I can’t get myself excited about the 3 I have to write (2 re-written and the Extended Essay). I’m very confused about the EE. It says I can write about anything I want, but I’m not sure what that means. Is writing about the difference between a movie and the actual historic event a worthy candidate? What about writing on the life of a famous dancer? Or how about how 2 dancers changed the dance world and how each did it differently? Please help! I need not only ideas, but I need to know what I can and can’t write about. HELP!!!!!!!

Well, I am excited as ever to finally be home. Unfortunately, this also brings the fact that school will be starting soon. EEEWWWWW! Gross! Where did my summer go?

Gas Anyone?

We started out at 9:30. We traveled toward Mt. Rushmore by way of Oklahoma City. We could have traveled through Amarillo, Texas, but we wanted to look at Oklahoma City University. It apparently has a great dance program and the theatre and music isn’t bad either. We didn’t get a tour or anything like that. We just stopped in to get information. And looking closer at the Areas of Study, OCU looks kind of like a place I’d like to go. Under theatre, an area of study is Triple Threat. That would be fun to study. The campus, what we saw of it, wasn’t horrible either. I liked the look of the buildings. The lady at the admissions desk wasn’t that friendly, however. She wasn’t unfriendly, but she didn’t really greet us, like at Otterbein. But of course, we didn’t call in a head of time. So our conclusion is to call a head of time to get the best results, but we always knew that.

In Tulsa, Oklahoma, there is an outside theatre that is performing “Oklahoma” and “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”. We really wanted to see the shows, but the theatre was out of the way and we needed to get to Mt. Rushmore.

Fried Green Tomatoes is a pretty good book. I would be done with it if I didn’t have to hi-light everything and make notes. That’s why I hate reading for English (which is all I have time for. No reading for pleasure anymore). Once Fried Green Tomatoes is done, I’ll only have 2 more books to read before I can try to get 30 points extra credit for English.

We had to fix our car. First off, we needed gas badly, so we weren’t sure if that was the reason for the car trouble. A red warning light came on and we suddenly couldn’t drive faster than 50 miles per hour. In truth, we should have gotten the car checked while in Disney World (it needed a check-up then), but we didn’t do so I guess we paid for it. We were stopped on the side of the freeway for a while before help came. The result…we were out of gas. Yes, ladies and gentlemen that’s right. Even though I told Dad that we needed to get gas, we still managed to run out. I guess he’ll listen next time we say, “Hey Dad, we need gas”.

It’ll take us 2 days to get to Mt. Rushmore and day 1 is completed. We figure it’ll take 12 hours to get to Mt. Rushmore. It’ll be a great car ride…I hope.

My Six Flags Adventure

Our day started out not so good. We wandered around for at least 30 minutes before we found a ride that was open that we wnated to ride. The first one we went on was a slow moving family water ride. It wasn't that exciting. But our day got progressively better after we went on Mr. Freeze. We went on 19 rides and saw 3 shows.

The three shows we saw were an Irish group, Chinese Actrobats, and a Showboat show. The Irish danceers were by far my least favorite. It seemed that they were lip-taping, in other words the taps were pre-recorded. I thougth this because they didn't have any taps on their shoes yet there were tap sounds. Also, it wasn't like Lord of the Dance. This group also had a Fossie dance and a Spanish dance. The Chinese acrobats were amazing. I can't even describe the show. All I can say is wow! The Showboat show was very cute. They had 3 couples singing different songs. It was the kind of show I'd like to do sometime. And unfortunately, Mom didn't bring the camera, so we only have the pictures Dad took.

My all time favorite ride was Mr. Freeze. It was awesome. I can't describe the ride because it really wouldn't make sense. Anyway, I had a great time and am glad that we finally have been to a 6 Flags.
