Peter Pan
Yes ladies and gentlemen.....I was at Cathy Rigby's last performance of Peter Pan ever. That's right....ever. Yesterday she performed her last show as Peter Pan. It was incredible. Even though I had seen it the day before, the second time was just as good. Cathy Rigby it truly an amazing person. She's like my parents age and in better shape than me. Crazy. Anywho, it was really cool to see her in her final show. I didn't knowv that they were closing in Portland. I guess that Portland was a better audience than Seattle (according to a woman in the audience who was talking to a friend a few seats away from us). Man, it was a good show.
The first time, we sat in the way nose bleed seats. I mean the last of the last row at the very tippy top. It was....great? Yeah. We could see every step and movement on stage...even though facials were hard to see (we forgot the binoculars). That day, Cathy Rigby was signing autographs. Unfortunately, we didn't get one because we thought she was signing them the day after as well. Wrong. She wasn't. Oh well.
The next day was just as good, minus the fact the we had limited viewing seats. We were on the right side of the house, which meant that the right side was partially blocked. The only bummer about that was that a lot of the cool tricks Cathy Rigby does when in the house is on that side. So we didn't see those tricks. However, we did see facials and that was cool. This audience was wonderful. The first time Captain Hook came on stage, the audience booed and he responded with "I haven't done anything yet". The second time he came onstage they booed again and he repsonded with "Is that all you've got?" It was quite funny, if I do say so myself. At the end, right after the curtain call, the guy playing Captain Hook informed us that this night was Cathy Rigby's last performance. Then she said a few words. It was really neat.
I loved this show. I really want to do it so that I could possibly get the chance to fly. That'd be so cool. And then I'd get to be a little boy too..that is if I wasn't an Indian, which would be fun too.
Well, that's about it. I am really glad I saw this show. It was spectacluar!
